Saving animals with art takes many forms — and just like the wonderful dogs and cats we rescue, our art is filled with a variety of color, texture and design. Our Rescued with Love exhibit, features beautiful dogs photographed with natural light and fresh flowers and is a symbol of hope for all homeless animals everywhere.
Designed to show off their beauty, this group of photographs and another group of student drawings from Booker T Washington School for the Arts will be popping up in public places all around town to teach and inspire people to ADOPT a pet instead of SHOP for their next pet. Watch for dates and details about an exhibit near you! And many thanks to Goosehead Insurance for their lobby space.
Pandah! By a nose and a half. The competition was fierce and every one of these dogs deserved to win — so our deepest thanks to the families who fought hard and campaigned for their pets. Each dog will receive a gift print of their calendar shot and a copy of the calendar. Best of all, the homeless pets of Dallas win as Artists for Animals continues to fight for their welfare. Thank you!
The numbers are flowing in and THANKS TO YOU our 2016 Artists for Animals event raised $50K for the adoptable dogs and cats at Operation Kindness last week. Here’s a great clip!
Topping the list of wonderful team members is Emcee and Channel 8 Meteorologist Colleen Coyle, Publicist extraordinaire, Kate Watson, the branding wizards at RBMM, the creative geniuses at The Richards Group and all of our wonderful sponsors: the Dallas Symphony, Sewell Subaru, Deli News, Veterinary Medicine Specialists of Dallas/Fort Worth, the Brain Performance Center, Hollywood Feed, Dickey’s BBQ of Little Elm, Regent Services, the Cat Connection, Good Life Wealth Management, Char Sutherlin Real Estate, Pet Paradise Resort, BevPro LLC, Nat and Nicole Mucha, Teresa Berg Photography and the many private individuals and other businesses who bought tickets and made donations to support the cause.
AFA Volunteers Wendy Buchbinder, Cathy Beasley, Jessiree Kubica, Kathy Ross and all of our Board Members worked long and hard with the volunteer crew from Operation Kindness to produce a truly memorable evening. We are so grateful!
I was never more surprised or impressed walking in to a classroom than the day I entered Kyle Clark’s Advanced Life Drawing class at Booker T Washington School for the Arts in Dallas. I knew the school’s reputation for excellence, but the quality of the work by these young artists was beyond anything I had expected. It made me want to go back to school.
We are so fortunate to be the bridge between these young hearts and the animals in need. I hope you’ll attend our concert and art auction on February 13th and see some of their amazing work in person — it will lift your spirits and give you a chance to own a little piece of their genius.
Our hearts are full after an amazing outpouring of love and generosity for Operation Kindness at Saturday night’s concert. The fourth annual Artists for Animals concert was a true success! Even though the final totals aren’t available yet, we can safely announce that we met our goal and will be purchasing the wonderful adoption trailer that Operation Kindness needs. Artists, musicians, guests and volunteers all pulled together for a hugely successful evening — and the homeless animals of north Texas are the big winners. Thank you so much.
We hope you’ve been following all the activities on our facebook page — the big day is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more pleased at how everything is coming together. We’ve added lots more wonderful artwork from the amazing artists at Booker T. Washington School for the Arts. All donated for our silent auction to help the homeless animals at Operation Kindness! We’ve also added some premium table seating – but we only have a limited number of tickets for sale, so purchase yours today at the Operation Kindness website.
