There’s a concert coming!

It’s April 23, 2023 at 4pm and you’re going to want to be there when Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s ERIN HANNIGAN and other symphony stars play for the animals they love. A beautiful afternoon of music unfolds as they perform with their hearts to save the homeless pets of north Texas. More details soon.

It’s Grant Time!

If you run an animal rescue not-for-profit in the North Texas area (and you don’t have any paid employees), you’re eligible for a grant from Artists for Animals. Starting September 1st, you can fill out a simple form with information about your organization and we will present it to our Board of Directors at the fall meeting. The groups chosen will receive a check from AFA.

We are open for submissions during the month of September only, so if you can’t return the grant form before midnight, September 30th, I’m sorry but we will be unable to consider your request. Email us for the form you need: artistsforanimalstx@gmail.com and we’ll see if we can help!

It’s time for some music!

Join us for an intimate chamber music concert at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center Lobby on March 27th at 4pm as we celebrate the animals that add so much to our lives. Your tickets can be purchased online, here, and each ticket includes wine, savory nibbles and their famous bread pudding.

After the purchase, your name will be added to the list at the door (no paper tickets will be sent) Only 120 tickets will be sold, so don’t wait!

Announcing our KICKSTARTER campaign! 22 days left!

Artists for Animals may seem like just a once-per-year event but we’re busy saving dogs and planning ALL YEAR LONG.  And with the new KICKSTARTER Campaign we’re even busier!

In a few weeks our visits to the classrooms at Booker T Washington School for the Arts start up again with the new school year — that means more beautiful relationships being created between students and their “models” and more beautiful artwork. But wait, there’s MORE!  Here’s the video explaining our expansion:

We’re reaching out to more people with larger, better venues and more concert dates — but we need your help!

Many thanks!

Our 2014 Artists for Animals concert was a hit! Combining ticket sales, donations and auction sales, our event raised $14,600 for Operation Kindness on March 14th. THANKS TO YOU!  We’ve even been contacted by orchestras in other cities that are interested in doing their own versions of our concert. So stay tuned for more news about money raised and animals saved.

Announcing the Artists for Animals Concert: March 14, 2014

Welcome! We have a new name, a new website and a new mission for the new year. We are an organization of artists founded by Erin Hannigan, Principal Oboe of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Teresa Berg, Dallas photographer and animal activist, in 2011. Our previous concerts (called An Evening for Dog Lovers) were held to benefit a 501(c)3 named Paws in the City.

This year’s live multi-media event is sponsored in part by DSO (Dallas Symphony Orchestra) and reaches out further in to the community, drawing student artists in for a poster contest and local artisans displaying one-of-a-kind pet beds — all available in the silent auction.

All proceeds from this year’s event benefit Operation Kindness, the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in Texas. Live classical music from some of DSO’s finest musicians paired with 9 x 12′ projected photographic images leave attendees with a multi-layered appreciation for the beauty and spirit of the homeless dogs and cats that are featured. This year’s event will be held at the Addison Conference Center, in Addison Texas. Tickets will be on sale shortly!
